We are excited to begin our TASK Service Project this November. For those families that are new to Toll Gate, each November for the past 36 years the Toll gate community has prepared a Thanksgiving meal for people who will go to the Trenton Area Soup Kitchen on Thanksgiving Day.
We prepare for the meal by doing what we call a ‘targeted food drive’. That means that each person in each class at Toll Gate donates specific items so that the soup kitchen has everything they need for the meal.
Before we leave for the holiday break we will all be preparing sweet potato pies. In the past we have made over 250 pies. At the end of our two days of baking, everything will be carefully boxed up and taken to TASK.
