ReadaFun!

Have you heard the news? ReadaFun is back this year!  ReadaFun is an online Read-A-Thon fundraising organization that encourages higher level reading and writing, promotes critical thinking and comprehension, and facilitates family interaction. Students read whatever interests them and invite their friends and family via email to make donations based on the number of books or hours they read. The TGG PTO earns 80% of funds raised to support initiatives like teacher mini grants, field trips, assemblies and author visits, outdoor learning spaces, and more!

This week, you will be receiving your student's login information from their teacher. If you do not, please reach out to ReadaFun Chair Eva Tramontana (emck323@gmail.com) directly and she will make sure you get your child's login information to get started. Everyone can participate; there is no financial obligation to log your reading. Most importantly this is a great way to encourage our children to read and a fun school-wide fundraiser. Prize List coming soon!

Please see below for more details and reach out with any questions.

Also be sure to look out for more details on our Spring Book Fair coming the week of March 20-23. A signup will be going out soon for volunteers. We need everyone's help to make this happen so please think about taking a shift and supporting our Book Fair Committee.

Thank you in advance for supporting the Toll Gate PTO!

Toll Gate Grammar School will be running a 2023 Reading Raiser from March 1 to April 9, 2023.

A Reading-Raiser is like a jog-a-thon, except your child will be reading books instead of running laps, and earning pledges based on how much they read. Everything is tracked online, which makes inviting sponsors and logging reading much easier!

Here are two videos that explain how to participate in the Reading-Raiser: - How to authorize your child's Reading-Raiser account: https://youtu.be/X4KCsWBwA7M - How to become a sponsor and invite more sponsors: https://youtu.be/NrUbWdEfy24

Your child will receive a private online account at https://app.readafun.com/ where he/she will log reading. Parent and student instructions on how to use the website have been sent home. Your child will not be able to invite any sponsors without your authorization. Follow this link to view instructions on how to use your parent account: https://app.readafun.com/guides/parent?d=403.

IMPORTANT: ReadaFun works best if you use Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox or Safari.

Unlike other fundraisers where we keep only 40-60% of each donation, our school keeps 80% of each donation using this program. We are really excited to promote reading and help our school raise the necessary money for our ongoing needs.

Thank you so much for your support!

Sincerely,

Eva McKenna-Tramontana ReadaFun Chair/TGG PTO Trustee
